During the oral cancer screening, our dentist will examine your entire oral cavity for signs of oral cancer. The first section of the exam will involve looking for red or white patches in your mouth, like on your tongue, cheeks, and gums as well as in your throat. The second section of the exam will involve your dentist feeling the tissues in your mouth to check for lumps or other abnormalities. If a problem is detected, your dentist will explain the next step involving diagnosis and treatment.
